How to Choose Music for your Animoto Video

How to find music controls

Both Animoto Marketing and Animoto Memories give you access to our music library, which includes thousands of licensed tracks that are free with your subscription. However, the way to reach our music library is slightly different for each. Here’s how to get to our music library, whether you’re in Animoto Memories or Marketing.

Animoto Memories

To change the default song for your slideshow, click on the music note on the top left-hand-side of your work area. When you do, you’ll see more song options, which are described below. Animoto Memories also lets you add up to 10 songs in your slideshow. If you want multiple songs, select “+ Add another song” below the tray with your content in it. Clicking this will create a duplicate of your first song. Keep the same song to create a music loop, or add a new one by clicking on the music note icon.

Animoto Marketing

To change your default song in Animoto Marketing, select the Music icon at the bottom of the tool bar on the left-hand side of your screen. From there, you’ll be able to see the song you currently have. If you want to change it, click the gray CHANGE SONG button to see more song options.

Choosing a song

When you go to change your song, you’ll see a pop-up window listing the most popular songs for your video’s style or storyboard. You can also find songs popular with your type of Animoto plan and your Favorites listed at the top of this window. If you want to look at our whole music library, click on the gray BROWSE FULL LIBRARY button located at the bottom of the screen. You can also add your own song on this screen by clicking UPLOAD SONG.

Pro tip

Found a song you like? Keep it handy by selecting the heart icon and making it a Favorite.

Finding the right song for you

Once you’ve entered our music library, you’ll see a toolbar on the left to help you refine your search. Up top is a simple search tool, which you can use if you know the title or artist of the song you want. Below it, you’ll find filters to help you sort through the thousands of songs in our music library. You’ll find a rundown of each filter and what it does below.

  • Song Length
If you want a song that fits your video exactly, from start to finish, the song length filter will eliminate all but the tracks with the length you need.
Pro tip

Try to mix and match filters to narrow down your search. Don’t have enough options? Try removing filters to increase the number of song choices.
