Mother’s Day is this Sunday. Did you get your mom a card? While that’s great, how about creating a video both about and for your mom as well? While it may seem simple to give her a card and express your feelings in a few sentences, a video can tell a story through photos, videos, music, and text. (Plus, you can enter your video on our Mother’s Day Video Sweepstakes page on Facebook)

Here’s what we suggest you include in your Mother’s Day video:

Photos bring your videos to life and tell your story of why your mom or mother figure is special to you. You can include photos of you and your mom together or just her alone.

Like photos, including a video clip or two will show how much your mom or mother figure means to you. Include a video from a family gathering, or include a video clip of yourself speaking about your mom.

Text can both help give some context or express sentiments that you can’t convey through photos and video alone.

Our new music library offers a large selection of music, so feel free to experiment to see which songs work well with your video.

We recently introduced Chalk Blossoms, a style for Mother’s Day videos. But there are plenty of other styles that may fit your mom’s personality or work well with the photos and videos you’re using.

When your video is complete, submit it and enter to win a vacation for you and your mom through our Mother’s Day Video Sweepstakes on Facebook. Submissions are open through Sunday May 10, 2015 at 11:59pm Eastern.

From all of us at Animoto, we wish all the moms out there a very Happy Mother’s Day!
