On December 28th, we watched as the Vancouver Winter Olympics Torch Run came through our small towns of Port Elgin and Southampton, Ontario (Saugeen Shores). It was very cold, snowy and windy, but the street was lined with people, and afterwards the Plex was packed for the official celebration. What a great feeling it was as our community embodied the Olympic spirit, showing that it's not about winning, but rather it's about "taking part".
