New York City based wedding photographer, Anthony Vazquez, is committed to social media. He considers Animoto a social media tool with the same range of influence as Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.
“Social media isn’t just an option anymore for growing and promoting your business,” Anthony explains. “As the focal point, social media becomes a platform for your business and the key to reaching new customers.”
Anthony creates an Animoto video first thing after a wedding shoot to share with his clients and promote on his blog and his Facebook page. Here’s a sample.
Tips from a celebrity wedding photographer
Anthony’s clients include Kevin Jonas of the Jonas Brothers and star of the new series, Married to Jonas on E!, Beverly Mitchell of Seventh Heaven, Nick Swisher of the New York Yankees and Sheri Shepherd from The View. “It’s exciting shooting celebrities,” Anthony acknowledges, “but the key is making all my clients feel like celebrities.” Some of that “star power” comes from having Anthony share his clients’ photos via his social media channels.
Anthony says maybe it’s due to his New York upbringing, but he’s very upfront with his clients and transparent about his sales technique. “The more transparent you are, the easier it is. Business doesn’t come to you; you have to be more aggressive than anyone else in the industry”, he explains. He doesn’t give away the rights to his photos – that’s why he can use them in his marketing activities.
Animoto delivers a cinematic experience.
Anthony recounts how he became introduced to Animoto and at what point he knew it was a must have for his business:
“About three years ago, we weren’t creating an Animoto video for everyone, but I decided to create one for a bride named Alexandra. In just a week and without the help of social media, just from her friends and family alone, the video had 1,000 views. That’s when I started creating videos for everyone. With the music and the editing techniques, Animoto delivers a cinematic experience that delivers emotion and makes everyone feel like a celebrity.”
Animoto is a critical part of my viral marketing mix.
Animoto is also part of Anthony’s social media strategy. After every wedding, he hits up social media to promote and grow his business: Facebook, Twitter, Animoto, YouTube, Pinterest, his blog. Not only is Animoto included in his lists of social media tools, but it also plays an essential role because it seamlessly connects all of the outlets. “Animoto allows you to easily link to our Social Media such as Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest,” Anthony said enthusiastically. “If you do it for one you must do it for all! We send a link to our clients asking them to share with friends and family. What am I saying here? [Animoto] is the best way to market your product using all of your online outlets!”
“Animoto is so easy. Shortly after an event, I can turnaround a video because I can create from anywhere!” he said. “Even when travelling or working remotely, I can upload my images and in a few short moments, we have created not only a great marketing tool for us, but also a delightful glimpse into our clients’ special day.”
